For the sake of the oceans
Founded to protect our oceans: The Southern Shores brand. The company's main concern is to produce particularly sustainable yoga products and to donate one percent of sales to the worldwide protection of whales and dolphins. They work closely with Whale and Dolphin Conservation to stop whaling, end bycatch, close dolphinaria and, of course, protect the oceans. But that's not all: Southern Shores organises weekly beach cleanups, which have already collected more than two tonnes of rubbish from Barcelona's beaches. In addition, smaller marine conservation organisations also have the opportunity to collect donations via the yoga mat manufacturer's online shop.

Sustainability has top priority
The company's goal is to work as sustainably as possible. That is why Southern Shores uses natural rubber from FSC-certified plantations in Guatemala for their yoga mats. This way, they guarantee that sustainable rainforest management is supported, the use of toxic pesticides as well as chemical fertilisers is avoided and the local residents are offered safe, well-paid work. Nevertheless, some things are difficult to make more sustainable. For example, the yoga mat manufacturer also produces unavoidable emissions during the production and transport of its products. For this reason, Southern Shores has analysed its CO2 emissions and offset them in the form of various tree planting projects through its partner "Primaklima".
