Plowing his fields in 1896, Johannes Nilsson could never have imagined that he was nurturing a seed that would grow into one of Scandinavia’s most successful hat manufacturing companies. But for each day cultivating the earth, he came closer to realizing that the future was in the textile business. And in Sätila, in the heart of the Swedish textile region, the circumstances for textile production were perfect. The skills and the desire to work with textile materials pervaded the entire region. And the cold Nordic climate fostered a natural demand for knitted, warm garments.
