Who knows better what mountaineers and climbers expect from their equipment than someone who is an avid alpinist and tour guide himself? That's the case with Rab Carrington. The experienced mountaineer took advantage of the unplanned waiting time caused by the delay of his luggage and learned to sew sleeping bags in Argentina. His experience in the mountains and the skills he acquired gave him the idea to start his own business. To this day, the eponymous company stands for robust, high-quality clothing and durable, functional equipment for alpinists and tourers.

Repair friendliness and sustainability
Rab's ambition has since been to make its own products even more effective, sustainable and durable. This includes an in-house repair service, a wide range of spare parts, the reduction of fluorocarbons and microfibers, and an increased focus on the recycling performance of the products. One of the main goals closely linked to this is climate neutrality. Since 2020, Rab and Lowe Alpine have been operating in a climate-neutral manner and are aiming for net zero emissions by 2030. Currently, Rab offsets unavoidable emissions by supporting climate projects.
