H₂No® Performance Standard
H₂No® Performance Standard is Patagonia’s proprietary standard for waterproof and breathable technical apparel. Depending on the product, various membranes, coatings, and material constructions are used. Under this standard, materials and finished products are tested for—among other things—waterproofness, breathability, water repellency, and durability. Part of the testing process is the so-called "Killer Wash," in which materials are subjected to repeated mechanical stress and subsequently re-tested for waterproofness. Thus, H₂No® does not denote a specific membrane, but rather a material and product construction that meets Patagonia’s Performance Standard requirements.

About Fair Trade Certified™
Fair Trade Certified™ is a certification program from Fair Trade USA covering various stages of the supply chain. Different standards apply depending on the production sector, each with specific social, economic, and environmental requirements. The Fair Trade USA Factory Production Standard (FPS) applies to textile and apparel manufacturing facilities. This covers, among other things, requirements regarding working conditions, workers' rights, occupational health and safety, equal treatment, working hours, and environmental management. Another component of the program is the Fair Trade Premium. Additional funds are provided for certified production facilities; these flow into a fund—the use of which is decided by employee representatives—to support projects aimed at improving living conditions in the workers' communities. Compliance with the respective standards is monitored through regular audits conducted by independent bodies.

bluesign® product
bluesign® is an independent standard for environmental, resource, and consumer protection in textile manufacturing. The system intervenes at the very beginning of the production chain, examining materials, chemicals, processes, and resources throughout the entire manufacturing process.
Under the bluesign® system, substances that pose risks to the environment or human health are evaluated against strict criteria and avoided wherever possible. At the same time, production processes are assessed to ensure the responsible use of resources—such as water and energy—and safe chemical management.
Companies and suppliers operating according to the bluesign® standard meet established requirements and undergo regular audits. In this way, bluesign® helps make textile production more transparent and resource-efficient.
