The young Swiss brand Nola, founded as recently as 2025, designs sustainable backpacks with a retro look that pays homage to the golden age of Swiss mountaineering in the 1930s and 1940s. Modern, minimalist functionality is combined here with traditional aesthetics and a deep commitment to environmentally conscious practices. The company name “Nola” is inspired by the untamed Nolla torrent in the canton of Graubünden and embodies the rhythm of the Swiss mountains and the charm of nature. And Nola’s logo mascot, the Brown Swiss cow, with its robust strength, adaptability, and endurance, is closely linked to the company’s playful, cheerful spirit of adventure and discovery. Production in Vietnam makes it possible to combine high quality with sustainable and ethical production practices while maintaining a competitive cost structure.

In his love for nature and mountaineering, company founder David Freitag was deeply influenced by his grandfather and his stories: rather than chasing records, it’s more about enjoying the journey, breathing in fresh mountain air, and having a great time. Of course, respect for nature is at the forefront. As a tribute to the bond between generations and the idea that life is best lived outdoors, Nola is therefore, at its core, more than just a brand.
