Down Codex®
Mountain Equipment is committed to a transparent and traceable supply chain for the down it uses. All new down and feathers are certified according to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). Additionally, the manufacturer's own Down Codex ensures complete traceability of the down used. Each down product features a unique code that allows the origin and supply chain of the down to be traced, thereby creating transparency throughout the procurement process. Furthermore, every batch is tested by the independent testing institute IDFL for cleanliness, composition, and fill power using the IDFB method.
Gore-Tex® Infinium™
Gore-Tex® Infinium™ products combine windproof, water-resistant, and breathable properties. The membrane technology helps protect against wind chill while simultaneously allowing body moisture to escape. The membrane features billions of pores that are larger than water vapor molecules but smaller than water droplets. This allows water vapor to escape while blocking wind from the outside. To distinguish them from waterproof Gore-Tex® products, Gore-Tex® Infinium™ products feature a white product label.
EXL® System
The EXL system refers to elastic internal baffle seams. This allows the inner lining to conform closely to the body. The construction reduces the gap between the body and the lining, resulting in less air space that needs to be heated, while still maintaining freedom of movement.
