Drilite® Loft
Drilite® Loft is a microporous polyurethane coating with a 1,500 mm water column. Highly breathable and water-repellent material.
Firestorm™ Construction
The innovative FIRESTORM™ construction combines the advantages of quilted down chambers – for optimal freedom of movement and particularly low weight – with an additional DRILITE® LOFT outer layer. This effectively protects against wind and moisture and makes the jacket particularly durable for alpine use.
Down Codex
Mountain Equipment uses only the highest quality down. The down is sourced from various sources. All down used by Mountain Equipment is a byproduct of food production and is only obtained after the animals have been ethically killed. Live plucking and harvesting (moulting) of live birds are strictly prohibited. The animals are not force-fed, and they live in species-appropriate conditions. They have enough space to move freely in a natural environment and find shelter. They have access to fresh water and natural food. The number of birds per square meter is below the recommended maximum. After the down is harvested, it is cleaned and sorted using water-based methods without the use of solvents. Every batch of down used by Mountain Equipment is tested for cleanliness, composition, and fill power. The IDFL provides this service for Mountain Equipment. All fill power information is determined using the IDFB/Lorch cylinder method.
