Swak Miswakholz

Description

Probably the most natural toothbrush in the world is a piece of Miswak from the Salvadora persica toothbrush tree in the Arabian desert. Miswak is the root wood of the practical tree, also known in this country as the arak tree. The special wood of the tree naturally contains tooth care and infection-inhibiting ingredients. Another advantage: No water is required for cleaning teeth with Miswak. The Miswak stick is about 15 centimetres long and is sealed in fresh and untreated immediately after harvesting.

Correct use of the Miswak stick
After opening the vacuum package, remove a small piece of the bark from one end of the miswak. You can do this with a normal kitchen knife or simply with your teeth. Then squeeze the first three millimeter of the root wood with your incisors and turn the wood around its own axis. You do this until the wood is soft. If the wood is soft enough now, you can simply test it with your finger. The result should be a pleasant soft brush whose fibres are no longer than two to three millimeter. Now you can start and brush your teeth gently and without pressure with the Miswak.

If the cleaning result is no longer satisfactory, you can simply cut a piece off and nibble on the new end again. After cleaning, let the wood dry in the air. If you want to use the stick again after drying, soak the frayed piece briefly with water or saliva.
A little advice: You can also cut off the front part, return the rest of the stick to the packaging and store it in the refrigerator. This way the essential oils of the Miswak will last longer.
