Tenaya was founded by Jose Luis, an avid climber and designer who helped develop world-renowned mountaineering shoe models while still a student. His native region in the Spanish mountains has a long tradition of shoe making; the optimal starting point for his mission to develop high-performance climbing shoes. With first ascents of iconic mountains such as El Capitán and Fitz Roy, and his participation in various world championships in sailing, Luis brings his experience from both worlds to his designs. Performance, simplicity and efficiency, combined with exceptional comfort - this is his mission that characterizes all Tenaya climbing shoes.
