Can a sandal protect the toes? It can be as simple as that: by answering one question with yes you can start a company. Keen founders Martin Keen and Rory Fuerst invented the now well-know and patented toe cap and with that they startet the company in 2003 in Portland, Oregon. Their shoes are now available in more than a thousand retail locations in the United States, and are distributed worldwide. Keen has been a fast-growing company since its inception.

From the beginning Keen wanted to do things differently. And they did. They are partnering with non-profit organizations around the world that help to build stronger communities and a healthier planet.
