Indiana
The first piece of dried meat.

Already as a child enthusiastic about Indian stories, as an adult a vacation in the American West was indispensable. From the proud culture of the Indians there is not much left today with one exception: dried meat according to old Indian recipe!

This in principle almost unchanged method to make tasty meat durable, inspired us and so the idea arose to produce this meat ourselves and to optimize the taste. For several years we tried it out and researched the best recipes until the time finally came and we founded the company Indiana s.r.o. in the Czech Republic.

Initially limited to the regional market, Indiana s.r.o. with its main product Jerky dried meat has developed very quickly and is now one of the 3 largest producers in Europe. Jerky dried meat is now exported in 4 product variants to over 20 countries worldwide. From the popular and original beef to chicken, turkey and pork, we are experiencing a steadily growing demand.

In the language of the Inca Indians, "Chárki" means salted and dried meat. The product name "Jerky" is derived from this term.

Preservable food has always been essential for the survival of hunting peoples from the polar region to the tropics for long migrations and hunting expeditions, and so preservation by drying was perfected as one of the oldest processes by the Indian peoples. They simply used the sun or smoked the meat in a teepee for this purpose, obtaining durable food with unchanged high energy value at minimal weight.

You don't have to hunt and dry jerky yourself - just try a piece!

From the tipi to your pocket

Dried jerky meat is used in a variety of ways. Whether it's sports nutrition, a break time meal at school, or even a "snack" in between meals. The original Indiana Jerky is an excellent delicacy, rich in protein and low in calories.

In the production of Indiana Jerky, lean meat is cut into thin slices, marinated according to an Indian recipe, dried for several hours and smoked. This process preserves the original meat flavor and contains up to 73% protein. A bag of jerky containing 100 grams is equivalent to 300 grams of raw meat - basically a meal.
