From the idea to the company
As with many ingenious inventions, Fidlock started with a problem: the inventive professional cellist Joachim Fiedler was annoyed by the unwieldy operation of his bow holder and decided to use his inventive genius to find a better solution, not losing sight of intuition and convenience even then. This is how the Fidlock premium magnetic lock was born, a simple and effective solution! Joachim Fiedler's pioneering spirit flared up. After the first bag fastener, he quickly recognised the potential of his invention and it didn't take long for new ideas to emerge. Today, a multitude of closures are used worldwide - based on the patented magnetic-mechanical technology, the Fidlock principle. Since the foundation of Fidlock in 2007 and the first Fidlock fastener for a school bag in the same year, it did not take long until further product families were developed. Already in 2011, the mark of one million closures sold was exceeded, a confirmation of the innovative and patented principle.

The Fidlock principle
The closure components are guided by magnets and thus enable an almost self-acting closure that snaps into the correct position. The mechanical engagement thus creates a secure connection. In addition, the Fidlock principle facilitates quick release by means of magnetic force. When the lock is opened, the magnets reverse their polarity due to the movement and repel each other. This is how the unique properties of the Fidlock magnetic locks are created, such as intuitive operation, comfort, reliable closing and one-handed opening, even with gloves.
