Tencel™
Tencel™ is a cellulose fiber derived from eucalyptus wood. Fiber production is particularly environmentally friendly thanks to a closed-loop process. Tencel™ absorbs excess moisture in a completely natural way and quickly releases it back into the environment. Tencel™ absorbs 50% more moisture than cotton and dries twice as fast as polyester. The fiber is composed of fibrils (tiny hairs). The fibrils are hydrophilic and ensure optimal moisture absorption with excellent climate properties. Tencel™ inhibits the growth of bacteria, has a smooth fiber surface, and is very robust.
Modal
Modal is made from local beech wood and is therefore 100% natural. The pulp and fiber production follows the principle of sustainability. The low fiber stiffness and cross-section of modal make the fiber a natural softener. This softness remains even after many washes. Modal is skin-friendly and therefore ideal for textiles that are worn close to the body. Modal fabrics are absorbent, robust, durable, and particularly breathable. They are also easy to care for, dimensionally stable, wrinkle-resistant, gentle, and silky soft.
