Boot Bananas: fight the stinky feet

"Save the world from fruity feet!” This is the motto of the young British company Boot Bananas, which produces shoe deodorisers in the form of bananas. How did this original idea come about? The model maker Alex and her boyfriend Phil, climbing instructor, moved into their first flat together and the smell of Phil’s climbing shoes became a problem that could no longer be hidden. In order not to jeopardize the relationship, the couple decided to remedy the situation and came up with the clever idea of the Boot Bananas: shoe deodorisers made of cotton in a shoe-friendly crooked banana shape filled with plant and mineral extracts such as lavender, tea tree oil and bamboo charcoal. These natural substances are on the one hand proven in the fight against bacteria and odors, on the other hand, Alex and Phil wanted to avoid the use of chemicals. The result: the boat bananas were a great success and the relationship was thus saved.

Due to the great result, the couple decided to found a start-up with the smart bananas. First, the bananas were sewn in the small flat of Phil and Alex in South London. Over one year they both hand-made about 8000 bananas until they teamed up with Troll Outdoors. Since then, the Boot Bananas are made by its dedicated team in Skipton, North Yorkshire. Efficient shoe deodoriser with natural ingredients, made in Europe and suitable for all types of shoes: it can hardly be more clever!
