It performs just as well when worn on its own as it does as an insulating layer beneath a hardshell; and if you don't need it during your hike, you can simply stow it in your backpack using the included stuff sack to save space.

Made from durable, breathable Pertex® Quantum outer fabric, this functional down jacket helps shield you from wind and cold temperatures, while a well-fitting, adjustable hood with a stiffened peak offers added weather protection. It is filled with specially treated, water-repellent down, ensuring effective warmth even in cold, wet conditions. Narrow, stitched-through mini-baffles keep the down securely in place yet are designed so subtly that the jacket remains sleek and low-profile.
