Ortovox Wool Promise (OWP)
The wool used by Ortovox is not only certified according to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS), but they also follow their own wool promise, the Ortovox Wool Promise (OWP). The Responsible Wool Standard serves as the basis. In addition, Ortovox goes a few steps further to be able to offer fair wool with the Ortovox Wool Promise: Through its OWP, Ortovox can trace the creation of the products back to their origins, thus creating good transparency at all levels. Ortovox maintains a very close relationship with the OWP farmers and is regularly on site. Multi-year contracts are concluded with the wool farmers and the farmers practice sustainable agriculture in order to create an optimal basis for people and animals for generations. In addition, Ortovox regularly brings together various interest groups in the wool supply chain and offers a platform for critical discussions, transparency and new approaches to solutions.
Tencel™ (by Lenzing)
Tencel™ is a natural cellulose fiber which is made from eucalyptus wood.Tencel™ absorbs excess liquid and quickly releases it again into the atmosphere. 50 % more moisture can be absorbed by Tencel™ than by cotton and it dries twice as fast as polyester. Fibrils are tiny components (little "hairs") which make up the fiber. The fibrils are hydrophilic and optimize the absorption of moisture with excellent cooling properties. Tencel™ inhibits the growth of bacteria, has a smooth fiber surface and is very robust.
