Vegan outdoor apparel and – equipment is characterized by the use of materials and fabrics of non-animal origin. Manufacturers deliberately forego animal products like leather, fur, wool, down or silk. Instead synthetic materials or natural fibers such as cotton, bamboo, hemp or linen are used.

Currently there is no uniform label identifying vegan apparel, shoes and bags etc. Our online shop offers a wide range of articles that are manufactured without the use of animal products, among them cotton shirts or outdoor jackets filled with a synthetic fiber. Naming all of these products "vegan" would be beyond the scope. Additionally, it should be noted that not using animal-based components does not necessarily mean that the manufacturer uses vegan adhesives.

We choose to only tag articles as "vegan" for which the use of “vegan” components is a unique feature. This means under the heading "vegan" you won´t be linked to every single cotton tee sold in our online shop, but instead find shoes without leather, vegane trekking food and vegan articles where the absence of animal-based components is a special feature (e.g. because adhesives are used or similar).
