Unterwegs is now climate neutral!

As one of the first outdoor outfitter in Germany, we can now call ourselves a "climate neutral company".

2. Reducing emissions
Whether it's a photovoltaic system on the warehouse, conversion to LED lamps, green electricity in all stores or shipping with DHL GoGreen - we are already doing a lot to become more and more sustainable. To ensure that we always have a good overview of the success of the reduction measures and can identify opportunities for improvement, we regularly update the CCF value.



3. Offset emissions
Nevertheless, there will always remain emissions that we cannot avoid. This is where we come in and offset unavoidable CO2 emissions in the form of a forest protection project in Brazil:

On more than 86,000 hectares, the "Ecomapuá" project protects the forest in the "Várzea" reserve in "Pará" at the mouth of the Brazilian Amazon. Lying around the island "Marajó", waterways cross the natural rainforest of the reserve. As a kind of transport artery, these favor agriculture and cattle breeding. The result: more and more deforested areas. The forest protection project takes up this issue, prohibits commercial logging and creates alternative sources of income for local families, for example through trade in the açaí fruit.

Forest protection projects such as "Ecomapuá" preserve forests in the long term and ensure that the protection of the forest is given higher priority than its deforestation. This is important because the vegetation and soils of tropical swamp forests, primary rainforests and mangroves store a particularly large amount of CO2 per hectare.
