Take Care

"Take Care" is the internal label of the Swedish outdoor brand Haglöfs and was introduced in 2014. For apparel, it includes products made of organic cotton or at least 50% recycled material or products which are bluesign® certified.
In the case of leather shoes, the leather has to come from tanneries which are awarded by the highest quality level of the Leather Working Group. The Leather Working Group is an internationally operating multi-stakeholder initiative, consisting of industry, trade, non-governmental organizations and scientific institutes. The aim of this group is to make leather processing more transparent and sustainable. This includes the reduction of the high water and energy consumption in this sector.
In case of synthetic shoes, the upper material has to consist of at least 70% recycled or bluesign®-certified materials. In addition, the midsole and / or the outer sole has to include recycled or biological materials.

The long-term objective of Haglöfs is to award their complete assortment with this label. Already the design is geared to develop products according to the appropriate criteria. The label is intended to help customers to find demonstrably sustainable outdoor equipment.
