Swisswool
Swisswool is not only a product that looks extremely good and keeps you warm - it is particularly unique as it is in harmony with nature. The lining is made of Swiss virgin wool. The wool manufacturer, the company Swisswool, provides the shepherds in many remote Alpine valleys in Switzerland the possibility to deliver their wool to the Swisswool collection points. This happens especially in early summer. The sheep kept on some very remote pastures get their summer shearing there. The shepherds transport the freshly sheared wool to the collection points. Here it is weighed and paid for fairly. Swisswool processes the raw wool further in Switzerland. In the finishing, the wool is quilted into many small insulation chambers. Merino Naturetec
In the Merino Naturetec lines Ortovox does without a membrane completely. The fine merino fibers are interwoven with the Naturetec material from the Swiss manufacturer schoeller®. The advantage: The material is extremely breathable and still provides protection against wind, light precipitation and dirt. The surface has a microstructure that causes water and even dirt particles to lastingly roll off. The combination of merino wool and durable polyamide is extremely robust and elastic – making it ideal for high-action sports. The merino wool on the skin ensures good wear comfort and ideal microclimate management in any type of weather and at any temperature.

Merino wool
Merino wool is a unique moisture and temperature regulating material. In fabrics made from merino wool millions of tiny air pockets in the fabric lock in body heat. At the same time, your body is cooled or warmed through absorbing or wicking body moisture, depending on necessity. The thermal insulation also works when the fabric is moist. The natural antimicrobial properties of merino wool delay the onset of body odors.
