Description

Winter hikes have a charm all their own, and the silence that settles over snow-covered expanses offers pure respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. To ensure the same applies to cold nights in a tent or an unheated mountain hut, the Glacier 1000 Women’s should be your companion.

Thoughtful details for superior sleeping comfort
The high-quality filling of certified 90/10 down with a fill power of at least 700 cuin, sourced according to strict ethical guidelines—the Down Codex—ensures pleasant warmth. The foot section features six chambers and provides exceptional thermal insulation. The zipper, covered by a Gemini® chamber, and the thermal collar also ensure that no heat is lost. The Lode-Lock™ closure on the collar is easy to operate with one hand. It closes mechanically and snaps into place almost automatically thanks to a magnet. This also prevents accidental opening during the night. To ensure the down’s insulating properties are fully maintained even on longer trips or in high humidity, the outer material of the Glacier 1000 Women’s is highly water-repellent. So everything is perfectly arranged for comfortable warmth during the night.

A tip for the next morning:
Staying nice and warm while you sleep is one thing—but crawling out of your cozy bed in the morning when it’s below freezing and slipping into cold clothes? Luckily, the roomy Alpine 2.0 Fit, with a shoulder width of 78 cm, lets you bring some extra layers into the sleeping bag to warm up—problem solved!

Down Codex
Mountain Equipment obtains top quality down from a variety of sources across the world. All down is a by-product of food production and is obtained after birds have been humanely slaughtered. There is no live plucking, or live harvesting of our down. No birds are force fed during the fattening process before slaughter. The birds are kept in good conditions and to high welfare standards that vary for ducks and geese. They are free to roam compounds and have barns to shelter in with good access to fresh water and natural food. Stocking densities, i.e. how many birds per square metre, are lower than recommended maximums. After collection the down is cleaned and sorted, using modern water based methods that do not require the use of solvents. Mountain Equipment tests each batch of down that they buy for cleanliness, composition and fill power. The IDFL provides this service. All Mountain Equipment fill powers are measured and stated according to the IDFB/Lorch cylinder test method.

Responsible Down Standard (R.D.S)
The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) ensures that down and feathers come from ducks and geese that have been treated well. This means enabling them to live healthy lives, express innate behaviours, and not suffer from pain, fear or distress. The standard also follows the chain of custody from farm to product, so consumers can be confident that the down and feathers in the products they choose are truly RDS.

Drilite® Loft
Drilite® Loft is a microporous polyurethane coating with a 1,500 mm water column. Highly breathable and water repellent material.

EXL®-System
A patented technology that provides optimum warmth. Uses an elasticated lining to gently hug your body and improve thermal efficiency.
