The Hyperia’s ultralight yet durable Pertex® Microlight shell features a DWR finish that sheds wind and light precip when conditions change unexpectedly. Inside, the innovative MerinoLOFT™ insulation is used, a sustainable and high-lofting alternative to synthetic fills made from all-natural merino wool (up to 10 % of which is recycled). MerinoLOFT™ retains warmth when wet and naturally helps regulate body temperature to keep you comfortable, whether you’re belaying on a multi-pitch climb or skinning along a backcountry ridgeline. The snug-fitting hood blocks the weather and adds insulation, zippered hand pockets and an internal zip pocket store small essentials, and offset shoulder seams eliminate chafing when you’re wearing a pack.

Merino wool
Merino wool is a unique moisture and temperature regulating material. In fabrics made from merino wool millions of tiny air pockets in the fabric lock in body heat. At the same time, your body is cooled or warmed through absorbing or wicking body moisture, depending on necessity. The thermal insulation also works when the fabric is moist. The natural antimicrobial properties of merino wool delay the onset of body odors.
MerinoLoft™
Icebreaker extreme lightweight MerinoLoft™ clothes were designed for outdoor activities, however, with its aesthetic appeal it means it's also perfect for anyone needing a versatile jacket for cold weather. MerinoLoft™ clothes are made up of a 100 % recycled polyester outer shell with DWR outer finish. The insulation layer is made up of merino wool and a touch of polylactide (an ingeo biopolymer) to increase the durability and to enable it to handle machine washing. The 100 % natural merino wool lining next to the skin adds comfort, regulates temperature and breathes to prevent overheating and clamminess. The combination of these layers makes the Icebreaker MerinoLoft™ clothes really warm as well as being water resistant. When the wool gets wet it retains its thermal properties making the Icebreaker MerinoLoft™ cloth perfect in variable or unpredicatable weather conditions.
Ingeo
Ingeo is extracted from corn, a renewable resource, which is converted into industrial sugar and then processed into polylactide (PLA). PLA is a 100 % herbal ingredient. Being made from plants, Ingeo biopolymer provides environmental benefits not possible with traditional polymers like polyethylene and polyester. Beyond reductions in greenhouse gases and non-renewable energy use during production, Ingeo biopolymer offers performance benefits as well.
