"The "SOMMELIER" cork-screw manufactured by FORGE DE LAGUIOLE was developed in cooperation with professional sommeliers from the French Haut Cuisine.

Today no one in this business can do without this particular cork-screw. Due to its high functionality it is an indis- pensable tool, both for the expert as well as for the committed connoisseur of wine. The optimal support level ensures that even longer corks can be drawn without any problems. The screw with its big core has five helixes. Compared to conventional types it therefore easily unscrews even old and/or long corks of top quality wine. The guide groove fixed on the outside of the helix additionally supports the cork.

High capacity steel which is extremely hard but nevertheless exeptionally flexible is used for the helix. In this context we nowadays refer to it as "intelligent steel" which is able to change back into its original shape after having been slightly deformed."
